Waxing is personal, and it should feel that way — not like a conveyor belt. Every wax at Spa Mambo happens in a closed private suite with one artist who does this all day, every day. You set the pace and the amount; nothing happens that you haven't asked for.
Regular waxing gets easier over time — the hair grows back finer and sparser, and the sting fades. Your artist keeps notes on your schedule and preferences so each visit is quicker and more comfortable than the last, and checks for ingrown hairs every time.
A Few Things
to Know.
- Let the hair grow to about a quarter inch — roughly two weeks after shaving
- Exfoliate gently a day or two before, not the day of
- Skip retinoids on the area for about five days beforehand
- Time it away from the most sensitive days of your cycle if you can
- Tell your artist about any skin conditions, medications, or sunburn

There's a quick sting as the wax is removed, strongest on your first visit and in more sensitive areas. It gets noticeably easier with regular waxing as the hair grows back finer. Your artist works quickly and can talk you through it.
About a quarter inch — roughly two weeks of growth after shaving. If it's shorter than that the wax can't grip the hair. If it's much longer your artist may trim it first for comfort.
A bikini wax removes hair outside the panty line and a little off the top. A Brazilian removes all or nearly all of the hair front to back. Tell your artist exactly how much you want taken — nothing happens that you haven't asked for.
Every four to six weeks keeps you on a clean cycle and keeps the process comfortable, since the hair comes back on a similar schedule. Going longer between visits means more regrowth and a slightly more intense wax.
Exfoliate gently a few times a week starting 48 hours after your wax, skip tight clothing and heavy sweat for the first day, and keep the area moisturized. Your artist can recommend a product and will check for ingrowns at each visit.
